The Canadian Conference On Medical Education

Weaving Humanism into the Fabric of Medical Education

The World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. The Public Health Agency of Canada considers mass gatherings of health care workers high-risk. The Government of British Columbia, on March 12, has directed all event organizers to cancel any gatherings over 250 people. The safety of CCME delegates and Canada’s health workforce is paramount and a high priority for CCME partners.
The CCME partners approved moving to a virtual CCME for 2020. We will be leveraging state of the art virtual technology for all plenary sessions which will be held on April 19 and April 20. A revised program will be provided on March 20.
This virtual event will continue to be an Accredited Group Learning Activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as meeting the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
All accepted workshops, orals and posters will be published in the Canadian Medical Education Journal. All presenters are asked to upload their final presentation slides and posters to the abstract management website for dissemination to all CCME delegates.
A 75% refund will be issued to all registered delegates.
Please contact your travel agent to discuss cancelation. We encourage delegates to take advantage of measures recently announced by airlines in response to the outbreak.
