2021 Attendee Guide

We are excited to be welcoming you virtually to the Canadian Conference of Medical Education 2021!

All major sessions, including 4 plenary sessions, the Education Research Symposium, the CCME-John Ruedy Education Innovation Symposium, The AFMC Hot Topic and The AFMC Learner Forum, will each offer credits. This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been approved by MUN CPD for up to 10 MOC Section 1 Group Learning credits. This program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by MUN CPD for up to 10 Mainpro+ Group Learning credits. Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.

The following will provide you with important information on accessing and using the virtual platform.

Once you are on the Attendee Website you will be asked to login in. You’ll be prompted to enter your first name, last name, and email address. Next, you will be required to verify your account by a verification code sent via email and/or text message. Enter this code, and click log in.

Once you have accessed the virtual Attendee platform you will see all conference content available to you. You can browse through the sessions and add the ones you’d like to attend to your schedule for convenient access.

The titles to all abstracts are hyperlinked in all the session descriptions for you to quick reference the whole abstract.

Workshops will be live collaborative sessions and will take place in zoom. Workshop spots are limited. If you have not done so already, you can sign-up for a workshop by going to all sessions and selecting “add” on the workshops you’d like to attend.

Poster sessions will be available on-demand throughout the conference and can be found under the posters tab in all sessions. We encourage you to visit the poster sessions during the two daily health breaks and engage via the live chat feature. Poster video presentations will available on the platform by Saturday April 17th.

All Oral sessions will be released throughout the day at their scheduled time. They will be pre-recorded videos paired with a live Q&A. There will be a chat feature to engage with other attendees and a Q&A feature in each session where you can submit questions for the live Q&A. You will find the link to join the live Q&A following the pre-recorded videos in the session description.

When a session is starting and you’d like to join, simply select “join session” on the session page.

Looking to network? There will be a networking feature which you will find on the main page, that will allow you to set up meetings with other Attendees and Exhibitors during the conference. You will automatically receive an email when you’ve been invited to or uninvited from an appointment. The requester will also get an email once their meeting is accepted or declined.

Attendees will have access to a virtual attendee help desk throughout the conference to help with any technical difficulties including logging in, resending verification codes, and navigating the attendee hub.

If you are in the attendee hub and have any technical issues with the platform you will find a tech support booth at the bottom of the home page as well as under the exhibitor tab.

Didn’t get to attend all the sessions you wanted to? Don’t worry - orals, posters, plenary and major sessions will be available on-demand for 3 months post-conference dates.
